Simi completed a bachelor's degree in neuroscience at the University of Texas, with a minor in public health. She went on to complete a master's degree in public health at the École des hautes études en santé publique (EHESP) with a specialization in epidemiology. Her master's thesis focused on the COVID-19 vaccine intention among French healthcare workers at the beginning of the distribution of the vaccine in France. She is currently working on maternal mental health and its effects on children in the EDEN study and in another study based in Benin.
